FOR PARENTS CHOOSING MATHS PRACTICE

Space to think.
Small choices that matter.

If you are looking for arithmetic practice without a countdown, Quiet Forest Numbers keeps the interaction simple and predictable. Choose what to practise, adjust the sound, and try each problem at your own pace.

A familiar rhythm

One problem stays on screen while you work. There is no timer or leaderboard. An incorrect answer brings a retry prompt without an error sound.

Feedback you can see and hear

Correct answers play musical notes and add a star to the session count. The game then moves to the next question. The count resets with a new practice session.

Sound you can shape

Music, answer notes, rain and forest ambience have separate level controls. Choose the mix that suits the moment, including turning the levels down.

FOUR OPERATIONS

Choose your patch of forest.

Arithmetic practice in four forest editions: addition, subtraction, multiplication and whole-number division.

THE THINKING BEHIND THE FOREST

Small details.
Thoughtful intentions.

Developed with ideas contributed by Nisha Bal, Principal Occupational Therapist at Seeds Occupational Therapy.

The Seeds OT article describes the thinking behind untimed practice, adjustable sound and gentle retries. These are design choices; individual preferences and experiences will differ.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you step into the forest.

Is there a timer or score?

There is no timer or leaderboard. A star count shows correct answers in the current practice session. It is session feedback, with no account or stored progress history in the reviewed game.

What happens after an incorrect answer?

The answer clears and a gentle prompt invites another try. The same problem stays on screen, and there is no error sound.

Can we change or turn down the sound?

Yes. Open the mixer to adjust Music, Notes, Rain and Forest separately. The music button controls music and forest ambience; use the mixer or device volume to adjust the other sounds.

Is it a complete maths curriculum?

Quiet Forest Numbers offers arithmetic practice. It can sit alongside familiar lessons and activities. It does not provide a full curriculum, an assessment, or a promise of a particular learning outcome.

Is it free, and where can we play?

The browser game is free to play online. The iPhone app has a separate App Store listing; check that listing for current pricing and availability. The reviewed iPhone app bundles its game on the device. The browser version needs an internet connection to load.

Does it save a child's details or progress?

The reviewed game has no accounts or persistent player profiles and does not ask for personal details. Play state and the star count belong to the current session. Web hosting and optional support email have separate processing; read the app privacy information.
